(1) Find out when and where we get strawberries in Maharashtra.
In Maharashtra, strawberries are mainly grown in the hilly regions of Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. They are usually harvested and available in plenty during the winter season, from November to March.
(2) Make a list of your favourite fruits and vegetables and note down the time of the year when they are available in plenty.
- Mango — Summer (April to June)
- Watermelon — Summer (March to May)
- Custard Apple (Sitaphal) — Autumn / Winter (October to December)
- Carrots — Winter (December to February)
- Green Peas — Winter (December to February)
(3) Have you ever eaten any fruit/vegetable picking it straight from the tree or field? Write about that experience in 3-5 lines.
Yes, during a visit to my grandparents' village, I plucked ripe guavas straight from the tree. The fruits were slightly warm from the morning sun but tasted incredibly sweet, crisp, and fresh. Eating fruit right from nature felt much more exciting and satisfying than eating it from a fruit bowl at home.
