Colours: I would use lush green for the grass and trees, vibrant multi-colours (red, yellow, pink, purple) for the flowers, butterflies, and rainbow, and sparkling silver and light blue for the rain and the sky.
Original sentences: The golden sun sets behind the tall, dark mountains, casting a warm orange glow over the quiet river.

‘In time of silver rain when spring and life are new, the butterflies lift silken wings to catch a rainbow cry and trees put forth new leaves to sing in joy beneath the sky as passing boys and girls too go singing down the roadway’.
(a) Is the poet talking about heavy rains in the rainy season or rain that has come after a long time?
The poet is talking about rain that has come after a long time. The phrases "spring and life are new" and "trees put forth new leaves" indicate that it is the refreshing spring rain arriving after a cold, dry winter, bringing new life to the earth.
(b) Are the boys and girls happy that it is raining?
Yes, the boys and girls are very happy that it is raining. The poem states that they "go singing, too" down the roadway, which shows their joy and excitement.
- Seasonal Rains (monsoon) in India and other countries: The monsoon is a seasonal shift in wind direction that brings heavy rainfall. In India, the Southwest Monsoon occurs from June to September and is essential for agriculture. Other countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa also experience distinct monsoon seasons with intense, concentrated rainfall.
- Rain in countries like UK which experience spring-summer-autumn-winter: In countries like the UK, rain does not fall in a single concentrated "monsoon season". Instead, rain can occur frequently throughout the entire year. The rainfall is generally lighter and spread out across the distinct seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
My favourite season is winter. After the exhausting heat of summer and the muddy roads of the rainy season, the cool, crisp winter air feels incredibly refreshing. I love wearing cozy sweaters and jackets. It is the perfect season for outdoor picnics and playing in the sun without getting tired. We also get a wonderful variety of fresh, crunchy vegetables and sweet fruits like strawberries and apples during this time.
Alliteration occurs when the same sound repeats at the beginning of two or more words in a line.
Example from the poem:
"Green grasses grow" (Repetition of the 'g' sound).
Other examples of alliteration:
- She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
- Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
- The big brown bear bit the berry.
- Four friendly frogs frolicked in the fountain.
